This Psycho Rainbow Rim Favia Coral for sale is certain to impress anyone who takes it into their possession. It's truly a magnificent live coral to behold and is even more colorful in person.
Fully Aqua-Cultured
Care: Beginner
Size: Varied
One unique feature of this Favia coral is if it is kept in rather low light, which isn't the most ideal, however it will still grow wonderfully regardless, a 1.25'' frag can swell up to nearly 3'' wide! Most LPS, or Favia corals cannot swell that much, it's certainly pretty awesome.
Our Psycho Rainbow Rim Favia Coral for sale will tolerate a variety of water conditions and has proven to be extremely hardy over the years. This favia, as with nearly all of our live coral, is fully aquacultured. This is a tremendous benefit as it is accustomed to the reef aquarium environment and will keep it's coloration and grow. When purchasing wild caught coral from other suppliers, there is an inherent risk that the coral will not adjust well to captivity. Some lose much of their natural coloration while others may not survive the transition for long term aquaculture. The Psycho Rainbow Rim Favia, already being fully grown in the reef aquarium offers a real advantage for both the beginner hobbyist or experienced reefer looking to make an investment in their collection.
Favia Coral Feeding
As is clearly visible in the video at 2:10, this Psycho Rainbow Rim Favia would die to get a bite to eat! Of the hundreds of live corals we grow, this one is a real glutton and will never say no to another piece, even if it is wafer thin. If a routine feeding routine is kept, you will experience a real difference in the vibrancy of this coral as well as some rather impressive growth. A coral which can eat that much in a single sitting really does have the ability to grow.
We recommend feeding Favia and other LPS corals at least 3-4 times per week. Target feeding is best, however broadcasting small particulates is also very beneficial if you don't have that much time.
Specific Water Flow
Psycho Rainbow Rim Favia Corals prefer low to moderate intermittent water flow. This can be achieved by acquiring a pulsating wave maker for your reef aquarium. Constant linear flow becomes agitating to some corals as it isn't natural. In an oceanic environment a swaying motion naturally occurs as a result of waves and tides. You'll want to replicate this in your home aquarium as much as possible.
Lighting Guide
This particular favia coral does well with the higher side of low to moderate lighting. If you have invested in a PAR meter, (it takes all the guess work out of lighting) that plays out to 50 - 150 PAR. We've kept the Psycho Rainbow Rim Favia at 50 PAR for a period of time, and it will swell up significantly as it truly isn't enough light for the coral.
In our experience, this favia looks its best at about 100 PAR. This gives it a slightly swelled appearance while still receiving adequate light so growth isn't inhibited. As with all new corals, you'll want to keep them low in your reef aquarium for a period of a couple days to give them a chance to recover from shipping. Then slowly over a week or two move to your desired location.
Our Psycho Rainbow Rim Favia Coral for sale is certainly not one you're going to want to miss out on. As great as pictures and videos are, they don't do justice to its coloration. Thank you for your interest in our Favia coral collection at Corals of Eden.
